All Seals has experience in the providing of precision high temperature gaskets and seals for a wide range of industries and applications. High temperature refers to gasket materials that have a high operating temperature. All Seals offers a range of gasket materials which are capable of handling temperatures from 350°F (177°C) to 2300°F (1260ºC). These high temperature materials provide high reliability seals at temperatures beyond the range of traditional gasket materials. Gaskets and seals manufactured from high temperature materials are designed to perform well in applications involving, flame, exhaust, combustible fluids, and elevated temperatures. All Seals takes pride in its ability to consistently produce precision high temperature gaskets guaranteed to meet your specifications and function perfectly within your application.

High Temperature Gasket Materials

All Seals offers premium solid rubber and sponge rubber materials suitable for high temperature applications, such as: SiliconeFluorosiliconeFluorocarbon (Viton™), EPDMViton™ SpongeSilicone Sponge,Conductive Silicone and Silicone Coated Fiberglass. They are among the best high temperature performers in regards to elastomeric materials. Each has an operating temperature range specific to the material.

  • Silicone: 400°F-500°F (204°F – 260°C)
  • Fluorosilicone: 400°F–500°F (204°F – 260°C)
  • Fluorocarbon: (Viton™) 400°F–500°F (204°F – 260°C)
  • EPDM: >400°F (204°C)
  • Viton™ Sponge: -40°F to +450°F
  • Silicone Sponge: -100°F – +500°F
  • Conductive Silicone: -100°F – +500°F
  • Silicone Coated Fiberglass: 500°F/260°C

Viton® Sponge plays a particularly vital role in cases where soft fluoroelastomers are desirable. The practical low hardness limit for solid Viton™ is 55 durometer. Viton™ Sponge fills this void where softer material is required however the heat and fluid resistance of solid Viton™ is necessary.

Silicone Sponge offers improved durability and sealing. It is used to seal or protect various outdoor communication, lighting or electronic enclosures, while providing protection against small dust particles, wind driven rain or fire. Silicone sponge offers higher tear and tensile strength than lighter grade sponge materials. (UL Rated Material: UL-94VO)

Viton® Rubber is a high performance rubber compound designed for use when it is necessary to contain fluids that would degrade normal elastomers.

All Seals also recommends additional high temperature material options, including: Compressed Non-AsbestosFiberfrax® Ceramic FiberPTFE (Teflon®)Flexible Graphite & Carbon, Nomex®, andKapton®.

Compressed Non-Asbestos Gaskets (Temperatures to 850°F)

Compressed non-asbestos gasket materials combine non-asbestos fibers such as fiberglass and aramid fibers with rubber to enhance the temperature and pressure performance of the gasket. Combining inorganic and organic fibers with rubber and fiberglass allows for a range of variants that have different mechanical specifications. Metal inserted materials are able to operate at even higher pressure and temperatures. Compressed non-asbestos materials are the most standard form of high-temperature gaskets. They can be used in general applications that do not require high levels of complexity and endurance.

All Seals offers Garlock®, Thermoseal® (Klinger®)Flexitallic®, Frenzelit®, Durlon® and Teadit® brands of compressed non-asbestos gasket materials. These materials are available in thicknesses ranging from 1/64" to 1/4" thick.

  • General Service Compressed Non-Asbestos SBR Based Gaskets
A high quality compressed non-asbestos gasket material manufactured with synthetic fibers and SBR binders. They are recommended for use in sealing water, low pressure steam, air and gases. [Temperature Limit = 750°F]
  • General Service Compressed Non-Asbestos NBR Based Gaskets
A high quality compressed non-asbestos gasket material manufactured with synthetic aramid fibers and NBR binders. They are recommended for use in sealing oils, solvents, fuels, and non-aggressive solutions. [Temperature Limit = 750°F]
  • Premium Compressed Non-Asbestos NBR Based Gaskets
A premium grade compressed non-asbestos gasket material manufactured with synthetic fibers and NBR binders. They are recommended for harsher applications in sealing oils, solvents, fuels and mild acids & alkalis. [Temperature Limit = 750°F]
  • Ultra High Temp Compressed Non-Asbestos Gaskets
A high temperature compressed carbon fiber compressed non-asbestos gasket material. This material competes directly with Garlock® 9850 at a more competitive price. It is recommended for steam applications, water, fuels, lubricant alkalis and weak acids under high temperature and pressure. [Temperature Limit = 950°F]

All Seals produces die cut gaskets using our standard (unbranded) line of high temperature compressed non-asbestos gasket material, made from synthetic fibers and an elastomeric binder. [Temperature Limit = 750°F]

BLUE-GARD®gaskets provide superior sealability, torque retention, and heat resistance that eliminate the need for asbestos. [Temperature Limit = 700°F]

Fiberfrax® Ceramic Fiber Gaskets (Temperatures to 2300°F)

Fiberfrax® is a light weight, resilient asbestos free gasket material which has excellent thermal characteristics. It is made from an Alumina-Silica combination. It possesses high temperature stability, low thermal conductivity, low heat storage, thermal shock resistance, and combines the high heat resistance of refractory ceramics with the weight and resiliency of paper. It is easy to handle, and can be die-cut to any shape or size. Fiberfrax® has low shrinkage, good dielectric properties and has excellent corrosion resistance. Its temperature tolerance ranges from 1300ºF to 2300ºF, depending on the grade of material.

Teflon®-Based Gaskets (Temperatures to 600°F)

Teflon® (PTFE) based gasket materials are the most universal gasket material available. It is able to withstand more aggressive chemical environments than traditional non-asbestos gasket materials. Expanded PTFE has the same properties as PTFE, plus it is much more compressible. This allows for sealing even with difficult gasket applications having irregular or rough surfaces. Metal inserted and expanded PTFE are able to operate at higher pressures than standard Teflon® (PTFE) gaskets. These materials are available in thicknesses 1/32" through 1/4".

Flexible Graphite & Carbon Gaskets (Temperatures to 5000°F)

Flexible Graphite and Carbon gaskets are able to withstand more aggressive chemical environments and higher pressures than standard compressed non-asbestos gasket materials. Sheets can be laminated with 316 stainless steel foil with tang or wire inserts for various applications and are able to operate at even higher pressures. Grafoil® has outstanding resistance to corrosion against a wide variety of acids, alkalis & salt solutions, organic compounds, and heat transfer fluids. Pure graphite can handle temperatures up to 5000°F. All Seals carries Garlock®Thermoseal® and Grafoil® brands of carbon and graphite based gasket materials. These materials are available in thicknesses 1/32" through 1/4".

Kapton® Polyimide Film Gaskets (Temperatures to 464°F)

Kapton® (by DuPont™) is a polyimide film which offers a unique combination of electrical, thermal, chemical and mechanical properties over a wide temperature range. It can function at 428°F to 464°F for continuous service, and intermittent at 752°F. It excels as an insulator and exhibits high-temperature resistance. Kapton® does not melt or burn as it has the highest UL-94 flammability rating: V-0. Kapton® Film is available in thicknesses from 0.0003" up to 0.005". It is used in flexible printed circuits and electronics. Its thermal conductivity properties make it ideal for use in controlling and managing heat in electronic assemblies such as printed circuit boards. Kapton® has a unique combination of electrical, thermal, chemical, and mechanical properties that withstand extreme temperature, vibration and other demanding environments. Kapton® has a high dielectric strength and high tear strength.
